What's New

Our work in the area of disability continues to unleash its magic in the lives of thousands of patients every year. Following are a few key updates of the project:

Jaipur Foot Center: Our Jaipur Foot Center in Mumbai has completed 3 years and continues to witness multiple patients visiting it every day. Our technicians and prosthetic engineers continue to spread smiles with their work, crafting artificial limbs and enabling our beneficiaries to walk independently.

Physiotherapy Center: Ratna Nidhi’s Physiotherapy Center is nearing an end to construction and will be functional in 2017. We will need financial resources to install new physiotherapy equipment’s and machines at this center and urge our donors to support us in this endeavor.

Ratna Nidhi leg: Currently field trials of the Ratna Nidhi leg are being carried out on 250 patients along with IIT Bombay. Post the trials we would launch the leg into the market for thousands of disabled patients to benefit from our disruptive innovation.

Mobility camp in Leh- Ladakh: Ratna Nidhi is organizing camps in the laps of the Himalayas at Leh. Over 500 patients will benefit from this project in June 2017.

Amputee Dog fitted with Prosthetic leg: Ratna Nidhi fitted its first prosthetic leg to a Street dog who was bought to our center by a Dog Shelter in Mumbai.

Testimonials

  • “My whole family visited the Jaipur Foot Center; the lead person explained how the Jaipur foot is designed for a specific patient; once designed, how it is tested and refined to perfection for maximum mobility, convenience, and comfort of the patient. In fact, the main technician was himself a recipient of a full leg prosthetics from RNCT. To our surprise, he demonstrated the utility and flexibility of this prosthetic by jumping off from a high stool without any trouble. We also visited other projects including Food for Education, Garment Distribution, and Vocational training for underprivileged children. We came away with a sense of gratitude for RNCT for the profound nature of the charitable work they perform on a daily basis. We look forward to future opportunities to contribute to these and other noble causes of RNCT.”

  • “The visit to Jaipur Foot Center was very wonderful and heartwarming experience for me. I saw first-hand the fitting of Jaipur Foot on the patients which enabled them to walk and be independent. Some of the patients and their families had travelled far distance. The patients were mainly from the economically under privileged group who could not afford these expenses on their own. The staff at the center was very courteous, helpful, knowledgeable and dedicated to serve the patients.I applaud the Mobility project and Food for Education activities of RNCT to uplift the human spirit. The smiling faces of the beneficiaries as they were leaving the center said it all.

  • “ Our visit to the Jaipur Foot Center, was an extremely rewarding experience for my wife and me. Ashaben briefed us; about how they reach out to different communities to identify candidates needing Jaipur feet or Caliper; the Manufacturing Engineer, explained the materials and process that goes into the making of the Prosthesis. She explained why customization is needed for a smooth transition from the remaining limb to the Prosthesis. A young man, who had lost his leg in a road accident, told us his story and showed us, the use of the Jaipur Foot. Mobility that these devices provide is a tremendous gift to the recipient as well as the family and society as a whole.”
